Hands & Surf es una iniciativa de un grupo de surfistas vascos que, siendo conscientes de las carencias que tienen países como Perú, con un nivel de pobreza elevado, siente la necesidad de echar una mano a través del surf.
El proyecto está siendo impulsado por un grupo de amigos del País Vasco unidos por una misma pasión, el surf, y cuya ilusión es aportar sus conocimientos y experiencias para sacar adelante este proyecto solidario.
Hands & Surf quiere proporcionar, con las ayudas recaudadas a través de distintas iniciativas, una vía de escape a los niños más desfavorecidos mediante cursillos itinerantes de surf. A su vez, aportarán toda la ayuda alimentaria, didáctica y médica que sea posible. Para ello colaboran con distintas ONGs operativas en la zona.
Los objetivos son muy claros: dar una vía de escape a los niños, impartiendo cursillos gratuitos para sacarles de su rutina diaria aportando los valores principales del surf: ilusión, ejercicio, respeto y conocimiento de la naturaleza.
Para ello utilizarán las ayudas recaudadas para conseguir material, medios necesarios para crear escuelas, y formar monitores para que el proyecto perdure en el tiempo.
El viaje lo realizarán entre mediados y finales de noviembre con la intención de actuar en la parte sur (el epicentro del último terremoto) y central de Perú.
