El alemán Marlon Lipke y la francesa Pauline Ado fueron los ganadores en un evento en el que no falto ni siquiera algo de snowboard.

El Pantín Classic celebró sus 20 cumpleaños rememorando el primer campeonato. Hubo de trasladarse el área de competición a Marnela y allí, bolígrafo en mano y papel (en vez de los ordenadores), los jueces puntuaban a los surfistas que estaban compitiendo. La música se silenció y únicamente se oía el mar y a los speakers que se esforzaban en informar a los surfistas sobre su evolución.

Finalmente, Marlon Lipke (Alemania) se alzó con el galardón de campeón de la vigésima edición, 10.000 $ como premio en metálico y 1.500 puntos para su palmarés. En segundo lugar se clasificó Darren O`Rafferty (Australia), tercero, el vasco Eneko Acero y en 4º lugar, Aritz Aranburu (País Vasco).

Declaraciones del ganador: “Pocas olas y muchas chicas”, fueron sus primeras palabras desde el podium y agradeció al vigués Goñy Zubizarreta su escaso español y a su entrenador. Fuera de él, el alemán decía sentirse feliz porque no había conseguido ningún buen resultado este año. Añadió que siempre quiso conseguir este premio.
Eneko Acero La final femenina tuvo una clara dominadora, la francesa Pauline Ado, que a priori era la favorita. El surf que se vio en la final fue muy estratégico, con las tres francesas marcando a la vasca Estitxu Estremo, que optó por irse a coger olas a otra zona. Finalmente, ganadora Pauline Ado; 2ª la francesa Alizée Arnaud; 3ª la vasca Estitxu Estremo y 4ª la francesa Marie Dejean. La final femenina tuvo un nivel de un 3* mundial, a pesar de que se desarrolló condicionado por unas olas muy pequeñas. La ganadora obtuvo como premio 3.000$ y 1.000 puntos.

Declaraciones de la ganadora: Declaró sentirse “muy contenta” porque ésta es “una competición muy importante para el circuito mundial y me sirve para conseguir un mejor ranking y para las competiciones que voy a hacer el próximo año”
A las 20.31 hrs se daba por cerrada la XX edición del campeonato internacional de surf Movistar Pantín Classic y a las 21,37 horas se cerraba la ceremonia de entrega de premios con un ¡hasta el año que viene! por parte del conductor de la cereminia, el speaker Alfonso Prieto. 
No faltó tampoco el snowboard...
