“Estoy un poco sobrepasado ahora mismo y no sé muy bien ni siquiera qué decir”, dijo Fanning nada más salir del agua. “Estaba siendo duro ahí dentro. Me estaba preparando para mi manga y entonces Gavin puntuó fuerte justo cuando estaba remando”.

Fanning ha ganado además 50 mil dólares extras por haber conseguido el título; mientras el evento sigue su curso sin él, después de haber sido eliminado por el australiano Dean Morrison.
El vasco Aritz Aramburu superó la primera ronda frente al hawaiano Dusty Payne, pero lamentablemente cayó en la siguiente frente al estadounidense Chris Ward.
