El equipo australiano se consagró ayer por cuarta vez consecutiva y por quinta vez en la historia Campeón Mundial de Surfing Junior, en la séptima edición del más importante evento de surfing juvenil a nivel mundial, el QuiksilverISA World Junior Surfing Championship que acaba de concluir su séptima edición en Ecuador.
No le fue tan fácil lograr el título esta vez a los australianos. Después de tener un antepenúltimo día del evento en el que perdieron a ocho de sus doce competidores, cayeron a la sexta posición en el ranking, subiendo luego al segundo lugar (detrás de Hawaii) en el que se mantuvieron hasta la última serie de todo el evento, cuando Dean Bowen venció a su par hawaiano Dylan Goodale en la última final del campeonato.
