Resumir Snowfilmfestival como el primer festival de videos de snowboard de España sería ciertamente elocuente pero a todas luces insuficiente para describir el evento organizado por los chicos de Xtremevents el pasado 7 de febrero en la sala Heineken Greenspace de Valencia.
Esta sala, ubicada en unas antiguas naves que servían de almacén, ha servido para crear uno de los eventos en plena ciudad más importantes de nuestro país. Era sin duda el escenario perfecto para Snowfilmfestival, que pretendía ser un homenaje a la labor de las películas de snowboard en la difusión y progresión de este movimiento tanto en sus inicios, con la creación de las primeras productoras especializadas - algunas de ellas con representación en el mismo festival - como en la actualidad.
El premio al mejor corto se lo llevó la producción de Pepicaspot con su 'Sensations in the small mountain', un corto de pausado ritmo, minimalista y sin grandes pretensiones técnicas, cuyo principal protagonista es la montaña, la nieve y las buenas sensaciones que transmite un freestyle relajado, de baja intensidad.
Por otro lado, el premio al mejor corto del público fue para el trabajo titulado 'VLC_ Very Low Quality' (fina ironía) de la gente de Joker Prods (obsérvese la ironía por segunda vez), un video más dinámico y centrado en el rider, con un punto más de engorile.
Después de ver un par de videos de las productoras internacionales de snowboard, llegó la JIBBING CONTEST, una competición amateur de barandas en formato Street Session que, a pesar del frío, centró gran parte de la atracción del evento. Constaba de una lanzadera y seguido con dos cajones planos de 4 metros muy truqueables y asequibles. Se pudieron ver trucos de nivel como 270º to 270º, unos buenos one foot, entre otros…

La mejor en la categoría femenina fue Marta Breto.
Rockstar uno de los patrocinadores nos mantuvo despiertos con sus bebidas energéticas.
