El Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presentado por LG Mobile volvió a la vida después de seis días de pausa con la primera mitad de la segunda ronda que se pudo celebrar con olas limpias de 1 metro en Duranbah Beach.

Una subida del tamaño de la olas permitió a los organizadores mover el evento a Snapper Rock donde se celebraron las restantes 8 mangas de la segunda ronda.

Los favoritos no defraudaron y Bede Durbidge, Joel Parkinson, Dane Reynolds, y CJ Hobgood se impusieron en sus respectivas mangas, este último a costa de Aritz Aranburu que se despide hasta el próximo evento en Bells Beach.
