Este miércoles partió rumbo a Australia el surfista zarauztarra, quien el 28 de febrero comenzará su segunda temporada en el mejor circuito mundial de surf, el WCT.
El circuito WCT contará con diez pruebas, en comparación con años anteriores desaparece el campeonato de Fiji. En lo demás no hay demasiados cambios, un cambio de fechas en Brasil, y el típico misterio del campeonato móvil de Rip Curl, que todo parece indicar que este año se disputará en la costa portuguesa.

Aranburu llegará a Australia unos días antes de que comience el primer campeonato. Se aclimatará al horario y a las olas de allí, y probará las tablas para el Quiksilver Pro de Gold Coast. Tras la disputa del campeonato en las olas de Snapper, en marzo hará dos pruebas del circuito WQS, para después participar en el segundo evento del WCT, en Bells Beach, en Australia.
El zarauztarra tiene la intención de combinar los dos circuitos mundiales de surf. Si ve que esta cómodamente situado en la clasificación del WCT, sin mucho peligro de descender, entonces puede que deje a un lado el WQS.
Según el propio Aritz Aramburu, “este año quiero subir en la clasificación del circuito WCT, y seguir aprendiendo, ya que la experiencia es muy importante en los circuitos de surf”.
