Olas de cuatro metros en el Pantin Classic |

La jornada de ayer 4 de septiembre en la playa de Pantín dejó unas olas de una calidad increíble y un surf espectacular. Aún con la marea baja, las olas de la jornada matinal eran espectaculares, superando en muchos momentos los 3,5 metros de altura. Parte de los mejores surfistas del mundo supieron dominar un mar con mucha fuerza y dejaron momentos realmente increíbles que han provocado la ovación del público.
Con la marea baja llegaron los primeros dieces, el primero de Michel Bourez y el segundo de Andre Silva. El de Islas Reunión aprovechó una ola de más de tres metros con varios giros para, posteriormente, introducirse en su tubo y salir cuando ya nadie lo esperaba. Gracias a la contundencia de la marea, se lograron varias olas calificadas por los jueces como excelentes, lo que sirvió para aumentar las puntuaciones. La mejor actuación de la prueba fue la del australiano Clint Kimmins, que se fue hasta 18,06 puntos gracias a sólo tres olas.
Por la tarde, a medida que subía la marea, varios surfistas disfrutaron de olas de más de 4 metros, un aperitivo de lo que puede ser la jornada de hoy viernes.
Los españoles no tuvieron tan buena suerte como el miércoles. En la segunda manga entraron el gallego Gony Zubizarreta y el canario Jonathan González. Gony, tras ir segundo, tuvo la mala suerte de que la fuerza del mar le partiese la tabla por la mitad. Aún así, tuvo la posibilidad y tiempo de remar para cambiar de tabla, pero la que tenía prevista no fue la adecuada para el tamaño y la fuerza de las olas de Pantín en la tarde de ayer. Por su parte, el canario Jonathan González, no pudo superar ni a Adam Melling con una ola casi perfecta de 9,97, ni al propio Patrick Gudauskas, que pasaban a la ronda 24.
Pablo Gutiérrez y Hodei Collazo, por el contrario sí se han clasificado. Pablo, el español "matador" consiguió superar la ronda 96, por delante de Hizunome Bettero gracias, entre otras maniobras, a un espectacular tubo del que salió por la parte central y cuando restaba menos de un minuto para el final de su manga, la 17. Pablo consiguió un 8,83 y se ha coló en primer lugar. Hodei Collazo también superó a sus competidores y pasó a la ronda 48 junto al también australiano, Nic Muscroft, justo cuando la marea subía y cambiaba la meteorología cubriendo el cielo y aumentando la fuerza del viento.
También Iker Fuentes ha conseguido pasar a la siguiente ronda, sólo por detrás de Drew Courtney. Una de las sorpresas de la jornada ha sido la eliminación de Eneko Acero que no pudo aprovechar una de las buenas olas que dispuso su serie y que ha acabado llevándose el estadounidense Chris Waring, manga que también superó el australiano Jarrad Sullivan.
La previsión meteorológica para hoy: borrasca y olas de 5 metros. Se espera lluvia y un mar muy grande, según las previsiones actuales.
